From the cloud forest to the Pacific Ocean!

Added 24 Mar 2012

After breakfast we load up the luggage and depart from Villa Blanca to head south towards the Pacific Ocean. It's cloudy when we start off but it soon clears and by the time we see the Pacific the temperature has hit the 90's. Crossing the River Tarcoles we spot crocodiles on the river bank below. Shortly afterwards we arrive in Herradura for a surprise lunch at El Pelicano beach front restaurant. We've reserved the air conditioned room and we enjoy lovely food, freshly cooked and served by friendly and efficient staff. During lunch Richard and Dawn take the coaches to our ship to unload the luggage early. This makes embarkation easier so when we arrive it's simply a case of settling into our cabins. The National Geographic Sea Lion is our privately chartered home for the next 7 nights. We're welcomed on board by Captain David Sinclair and his crew and we're soon settled in and enjoying our first dinner on board. Let the adventure begin!
