Magnums on the waterfront!

The buffet breakfast at the Hilton Hotel in Guayaquil is quite extensive. Everything you may expect including cereals, fruit, pastries, juices, but also a huge selection of hot dishes including a gammon roast. After breakfast, you could do without lunch!

This morning our two local guides, Rocio and William, escort a half-dayGuayaquil City Tour. We visit the main city administrative buildings and town hall, and walk past the moorish clock tower before a visit to Centenary Park. There is a population of land iguanas here. There are a few iguanas on the grass but most are sitting high in the trees. It's best to avoid walking underneath these trees unless you are happy to risk an "iguana perfume shower". Nearly all of us manage to negotiate a safe exit!

Later, we walk on the new pedestrian bridge across the river, before enjoying a walk along the Malecon, an award-winning waterfront development featuring boardwalks, restaurants, shops and other attractions. As we approach noon the temperature and humidity is rising so Richard annd Dawn think it must be time for some Magnum ice creams. The ice cream kiosk seller can't believe their luck. 47 magnums please!
