We're off to Antarctica

Added 02 Jan 2014

The Planet's last great untouched wilderness, Antarctica exhausts superlatives. It is the coldest, driest, highest and cleanest continent on earth. It has no permanent human inhabitants but is home to millions of penguins and it’s oceans are unimaginably rich in bird and marine life with leopard and fur seals, minke whales and great flocks of seabirds - including the wandering albatross. Aboard MS FRAM, Hurtigruten’s comfortable and modern expedition ship, the experienced Norwegian crew will navigate skilfully through the cool waters and an expert natural history team will accompany us throughout. Landings and excursions by rigid zodiac boats will allow us to get up close and when we manage to tear our eyes away from the wildlife, the icebergs and glaciers present an equally enthralling sight. From the bow, every view is a photographer’s dream and the long summer days mean there is plenty of opportunity to take it all in. Pre and post voyage we explore Buenos Aires, Argentina’s vibrant capital and our grand finale is a visit to Iguazú, widely regarded as having the most impressive waterfalls in the world.

Let the expedition begin!
