Seeking the elusive Quetzal

Added 22 Mar 2012

Early risers are up and drinking tea or coffee ready for their 6.30am bird watching walk. We're covered in clouds this morning so it's not easy to spot bird life but we can certainly hear it! For other guests, breakfast starts at 6.30am and they join a nature walk and search for the elusive Quetzal bird. Again, not an easy task but they return with reports of sloths and more and at least two guests spot a Quetzal as it flew quickly past. Yet more guests head off to Arenal Volcano, for Nature Walks, visit nearby San Ramon, or for a zip wire experience! Dawn enjoys the zip wire while Richard takes the photos! Our guides, Bernal and Diana host extra excursions in the grounds of Villa Blanca, spotting birds, identifying flora, and explaining the history of the beautiful little wedding chapel located in the grounds of Villa Blanca. After a busy day, everyone is back at base to enjoy a tasty buffet dinner complete with wine. Another wonderful day in paradise!
