South Plaza and Santa Fe

Added 03 Nov 2011
This morning we visit South Plaza Island which lies off the eastern coast of Santa Cruz Island. We explore a circuit trail including a cliff top walk which provides the up-draft so desired by numerous seabirds. We see nesting swallow-tailed gulls and red-billed tropicbirds, frigate birds and pelicans. On the ground we see the endemic Galapagos land iguanas too! After lunch we drop anchor off the Santa Fe Island where we offer kayaking and snorkelling options before a choice of a long and a short walk. The island is famous for some of the largest prickly-pear cactus trees, plus the endemic Santa Fe iguana. Another great day!
