From Antarctica to a subtropical jungle

A final breakfast at our comfortable Buenos Aires accommodation, the Madero Hotel, before we check out and transfer to the domestic airport for a short flight up to Iguazu. The LAN airline staff at Buenos Aires airport are most helpful and get us checked in efficiently, by passing the normal queue! When we get to the departure gate we can see our aircraft but passengers and luggage is still coming off from the previous flight so it looks as though we may incur a delay. LAN pull out all the stops and our luggage is loaded and we are away not long after schedule. Less than 2 hours later we are landing at Cataratas del Iguazú Airport. As the aircraft doors are opened we notice immediately this will be rather warmed than Antarctica! Mid-30s Centigrade.

Our guide, Maria, is here to greet us and we board our private coach and transfer to our hotel. We are staying at the LOI SUITES RESORT which has been built in the heart of a subtropical jungle called Iryapu. The hotel has been designed with the forest surroundings in mind so there are lots of natural materials incuding wood and stone. The outdoor swimming pool complex is amazing, featuring numerous different levels and surrounded by the forest. Uniquely the bedrooms are interconnected by wide suspended wooden bridges!
