Meeting at Gatwick for our British Airways flight, check-in went smoothly despite some new and rather confusing bag-drop machines, and we were soon settling in for our direct, non-stop flight to Peru. A couple of films and a magazine or two later, we landed at Lima Airport. It was early evening local time, although it felt like late evening to us, so thankfully the immigration queue was short and our guide Desi was waiting to take us to our private coach. Upon arriving at the Country Club Lima Hotel in the San Isidro district, room keys were distributed - along with champagne! - and after settling in, we gathered for a light meal prior to a well-earned sleep!
Welcome to Peru!
